“Looks like a hamstring injury” – Norwich City sweating from blow to in-form loan star
Norwich City manager David Wagner has admitted he is concerned about Hwang Ui-Jo’s injury in the match against Watford.
Norwich City suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Watford despite having a two-goal advantage at one point. Hwang lasted just 17 minutes in that tie. He scored a goal during this period, his second in two games and his third of the season.
Unfortunately, following the loanee’s departure from Nottingham Forest, the team collapsed and suffered a devastating defeat.
Norwich City currently sit 14th in the Championship table.Wagner commented on the injury after the match. He told the Pink Un:“It looks like a hamstring injury.
Of course there will be a scan and then we will see how serious it is. We’ll have to wait and see how serious it is and what it actually means, but you’ve obviously seen he’s in good shape.
He scored goals for South Korea, he scored for us in the last few games and he worked very hard for that too.”1 of 20 Who plays at Elland Road? Middelsbrough Leeds UnitedCity of LeicesterCity of IpswichA new concern The injury comes at a difficult time for the player and the club.
Hwang was starting to find his form at Norwich City and after scoring a great goal in the early stages of Watford’s defeat, he could have got another to change the course of the game if he had stayed.
The Canaries need a lot of goalscorers in their squad right now if they want to put together a series of winning matches.
Therefore, Hwang’s absence will be heavily felt if he is absent for an extended period of time. He may also not be in favor of David Wagner’s attempt to keep his seat.
A change of management cannot be ruled out and, with Hwang’s departure, they will be without one of their fit players, although only time will tell the extent of the injury. Norwich City return to action this weekend against Bristol City.
It will be a tough game for the Canaries after a great start to life at Ashton Gate for Liam Manning.
