Monday night, the Ravens made a significant announcement.
On Monday Night Football, the Baltimore Ravens upset the San Francisco 49ers in what was billed as a possible Super Bowl preview.
Baltimore’s dominance was highlighted by a score of 33-19. The 49ers’ offense found it challenging to penetrate the strong defense of the Ravens. Brock Purdy, the quarterback for San Francisco, threw four interceptions. Late in the game, Purdy was benched by San Francisco. Sam Darnold in as a backup and threw an interception as well.
In addition, the Ravens had four quarterback hits and 27 quarterback pressures. Baltimore’s strategy of going after the Niners quarterbacks proved effective.
- Since these teams were the top seeds in their respective conferences, a lot of analysts predicted a competitive game. That narrative was altered by the Raven’s defense. Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for Baltimore, is currently the MVP front-runner.
Jackson gained 252 yards and two touchdowns on 23 completions of passes. The dual-threat quarterback also increased his yardage gained by 45 rushes.
At this point, Baltimore is 12-3. They appear to be Super Bowl favorites as they storm into the playoffs. The 49ers record is 11-4. Their six-game winning streak was snapped by this defeat. Furthermore, the 49ers are currently tied for first place in the NFC with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
