So Shocking and Unbelievable reason: why Martin Dubravka refused to Newcastle United’s Premier League clash v Arsenal
The official reason why Martin Dubravka missed Newcastle United’s Premier League clash v Arsenal. Martin Dubravka has been ruled out of Newcastle United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday evening.
The 35-year-old has deputized for Nick Pope since Newcastle’s No.1 goalkeeper dislocated his shoulder in December.
However, Dubravka has missed Newcastle’s trip to the Emirates Stadium this weekend due to illness and is replaced in the starting XI by Loris Karius.
The former Liverpool goalkeeper has made just one appearance for Newcastle – the defeat to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final last season – and has not started a Premier League game since May 2018. Karis is one of three changes following Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth last Saturday as Alexander Isak returns from a groin injury to replace Harvey Barnes in attack, while Tino Livramento is preferred to Dan Burn at left-back.
Arsenal, meanwhile, make one change from their 1-0 defeat to Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday evening as Jorginho is brought into midfield while Leandro Trossard drops to the bench.
