LeBron James is still playing at an All-Star caliber at the age of 39. However, is it possible that James, who has a player option for the 2024–25 campaign, may decide to leave the Lakers? Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports that the Lakers have not discussed LeBron’s plans with his representatives. Currently attending USC is Bronny James, LeBron’s son. Some in the NBA know that the Lakers might try to choose Bronny if he decides to enter the draft to convince LeBron to stay in Los Angeles. Some, though, are unsure if LA would go in that path.
LeBron might choose to follow Bronny to whichever team picks him if he enters the draft and ends up with another team. LeBron has not talked about his intentions, so for now, we are limited to conjecture. Nonetheless, LeBron influences his NBA future since he has a player option. LeBron James is still playing at a very high level.
Despite turning 40 in December 2024, LeBron would undoubtedly attract a lot of attention in free agency given his performance. He is exerting every effort to guide the Lakers. LeBron is scoring 24.8 points per game on 52.1 percent field goals and 39.1 percent three-point shooting thus far in 2023–24. In addition, he is averaging 7.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 7.2 rebounds per game.
LeBron James has a career shooting percentage of 34.6 percent from outside the arc. This season, he has made particularly remarkable progress in terms of his three-point percentage. James has put a lot of effort into his long-range shooting, and the benefits are showing. LeBron continues to be among the NBA’s top players. Amazingly, he can still perform at such a high level in his late 30s. It will be interesting to see what kind of contract offers LeBron gets if he decides to join free agency.
