Great News: The Lakers Planning Management Team has considered ahead of the trade deadline to…
Zach Lavine of the Chicago Bulls is one of the many players the Los Angeles Lakers are keeping an eye on as the NBA trade deadline draws near. The Lakers aren’t even thinking about a trade for only Lavine. According to Dave McMenamin, Los Angeles is interested in Chicago center Andre Drummond. The Lakers want to be sure they have a suitable answer in case they play Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the postseason.
With 45 appearances for the Bulls, Drummond has averaged 7.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per contest. He would only trail Anthony Davis in rebounds if he were a member of the Lakers. The Lakers rank 20th in terms of rebounding overall, therefore they have trouble with it overall.
with 43.2 rebounds per game in the league. In addition to his ability to rebound, Drummond would provide much-needed size to help against the intimidating big men in the Western Conference. Jokic will be a challenge, but without the necessary size, players like Sacramento Kings forward Domantas Sabonis or Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert would be difficult opponents. Before the trade deadline, the Lakers were linked to several players, including Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks and Lavine. Based on the trade talk in Los Angeles, Andre Drummond would most likely not make the largest splash.
He does, however, meet a vital requirement for the Lakers. They are aware of the difficulties they will face as they attempt to qualify for the playoffs. With the addition of a player of Drummond’s level, LA will have the strong defender and necessary size in the paint to contend with the Western Conference.
